It is with the deepest and saddest regret that the Lancaster Real Estate Auction Company announces the passing of our grand-father, mentor, trainer, and friend, Rufus K. Geib. Rufus passed away this morning at the Pleasant View Retirement Community. Rufus was 90 years old and had recently struggled with a case of pneumonia. Rufus was an auctioneer in Lancaster County since 1959 – 1994 and passed the business down to his grandchildren. Four generations made up Rufus Geib Auctioneering and Shenk Auction Company, and we will continue the business in his memory and honor.

lso being sold is Eugenes 1944 Model A John Deere tractor, originally purchased by Eugenes grandfather and used for generations by members of the Hummer Family. Eugene has meticulously disassembled and reassembled the tractor (80 pieces) as a labor of love for the land that he and his family have farmed for generations. In recent years, Eugene has proudly displayed this tractor (and his Hit N Miss engines) at various shows and parades.
